Firstly, let me just say that I would be forever greatful if the good people at Sullivan Entertainment and the talented John Welsman could put together this long awaited, much anticipated and hoped for compilation of the best music scores from 'Road to Avonlea'. I've been a long time fan since the very beginning of the series right up until its' innevitable end (Sniff, sniff - wish it could have gone on forever, but that's too much wishful thinking I suppose) Not too sound all cheesy or anything, but I proudly admit that this show touched a place in my heart and will forever hold a special spot there - I seize every opportunity to watch re-runs of this wonderful television series (which isn't too hard - it appears daily on at least 3 different stations that I know of - yay, good 'ol CBC) My only regret about 'Road to Avonlea' is that I wish I had had the opportunity to audition for a role on the show! I started watching the series when I was 10 and right around the ages of the primary children roles - it must have been such an incredible experience to grow up working on such a fabulous show. I unfortunately didn't give much thought or show any interest in acting until I was in High school - but now I wish I'd been brave enough to beg my parents to let me travel down to Ontario and audition (not that I would ever want to replace any of the incredible actors that embodied the characters I've come to love and cherish - but I had such a crush on Felix King (hee - it's true!) and would have given anything to play Izzy Pettibone (darn...too late now I guess...now where did I put that time machine?) :) Anyways, my reminising and rambling is getting far too long. Once again (uh oh - I'm resorting to begging, here it comes) please, please, Please release a new Road to Avonlea CD! I'd do anything to get a copy! Anything! (hmm..what am I implying...best not to think about it - delete! Delete!) Arg...too late... Oh yeah, before I forget - just in case those very important people happen to read my somewhat silly, ridiculous (but honest and heartfelt too!) comments - I'd like to add that releasing the series on DVD would be an amazing and rewarding treat to all us long-time fans. I would literally die if that happened (well, no...not really - I'd watch the dvd's first and *then* drop dead) Plus with so many movies and television shows already jumping the gun and planning dvd releases for shows that are long past and brand spankin' new - it'd be crazy *not* to have such a classic, unforgettable show immortalized and preserved for generations to come. Road to Avonlea was in my humble opinion, one of the greatest television series ever...I will always love it - even if it never gets to Dvd and the score cd of the earlier episodes...just so long as it's still on t.v. (crosses her fingers) Thanks for reading this! (if anyone actually made it to the end without falling asleep that is) :) Bye! Road to Avonlea...Always and Forever...(cue Gus Pike theme music) :) (sniffle)
